Daylight Savings Time to Arrive Early
dwaldron March 5th, 2007
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 extends Daylight Savings Time in the US by 4 weeks beginning in 2007. Daylight Savings Time will begin on March 11, 2007 and end on November 4, 2007. The time between the new DST dates and the original DST dates (March 11-April 1 and October 28-November 4) is referred to as Extended DST.
Most computer operating systems and applications are already updated to reflect this change. Others may require patches to be downloaded to operate properly with the change. The Office of Information Technology recommends that individuals install the correct update based on the operating system version on their computer. This should be done prior to March 11, 2007.
