OIT has implemented a system that permits members of the faculty and staff to create accounts that allow temporary guest access to the College’s wireless network. Guests receive a user id and password combination, instructions for connecting to the COWGuest wireless network and information on acceptable use. All the information necessary to create and manage temporary accounts is available in the online documentation. OIT is delighted to make this new service available to the College community.

With the beginning of the new academic year, wireless network service has become available in Armington, Holden and Holden Annex residence halls. The service is also available in Gault Manor which opened its doors for the first time this year. Prior to the current academic year, Luce Hall was the only residence hall in which the wireless network was accessible. IT is committed to extending the service to the Stevenson and Bissman residence halls this academic year. The wireless service will be added to Babcock as part of the renovation of that building that is now underway. IT hopes to be able to extend the wireless network into additional residence halls this year, but is unable to make commitments at this time.
Outside the residence halls, the wireless service is available in all academic buildings, Lowry Center, Galpin Hall, and the Douglas Quad. Students seeking help connecting to the wireless network can visit the IT help desk in Andrews Library or consult the documentation available on the IT website.
Additional information about the expansion of the wireless network will be posted to the blog as it becomes available.
